This PIL was necessitated by the unnecessary felling of green trees by the State in the process of "development". Trees which can saftely, easily and economically be transplanted are cut, even though a GO is there to the effect to transplant trees.

Filed on 17th Oct 2011 this PIL requested:
  1. That the GO for transplanting trees be implimented in letter and spirit and detailed guidlines be framed.

The respondents are the Chief Secretary and PCCF. Court has given them four weeks to reply
