This PIL was necessitated by the plans of the District Administration to acquire 12 foot of land from Parade Ground and Gandhi Park to widen the Lansdowne and Kanak Chowks.

Filed in Jan 2011 this PIL is to save Parade Ground & Gandhi Park. We had requested:
  1. The boundary of both not be altered nor trees felled in the two.
  2. All allotments of land done to non sporting organizations be annulled and cancelled.
  3. One way traffic be strictly implimented around the Parade Ground.

There are three respondents, the Chief Secretary, DM Dehra Dun and Mukhya Nagar Adhikari.
The Court ordered a stay on felling of trees or demolishing the boundary of Parade Ground or Gandhi Park.
Last hearing was on 18th Oct, in which only the MNA filed a reply. Our counter affadavit will be filed soon.
