In an act of unprecedent brazenness, the District Administration demonlished on 5th Feb, 2011, part of the wall of Ranger's College after giving 2 days notice to the institution. A big chunck of land had been taken over for road widening purpose. The land acquired has a dense patch of bamboo trees and 6 green trees.

Members of CFGD believe that the solution to the problem of traffic congestion is not road widening but ensuring smooth flow of traffic and that the Ranger's College is a place of historical importance, as it was here that forestry started in India 200 yrs ago, therefore tinckering with it is akin to defacing Doon's historical monuments.

Lending support to FRI Director
CFGD delegation meets FRI Director

We called upon the Director to impress on him that the Civil society of Doon is with him and he must not let this act of high handedness go unanswered.
