Inauguration of Dalanwala Chapter of Citizens For Green Doon

Citizens For Green Doon today launched its Dalanwala Chapter. The Chapter was launched by Miss Asha Negi, Miss Uttarakhand 2010 by lightening a lamp, in a simple ceremony held on Sunday evening. Lightening the lamp Miss Uttarakhand 2010, Asha Negi Speaking on the occasion Dr Nitin Pandey reminded the members of 26th July last year, when labourers descended on Parade Ground and started cutting the trees. Students of the Sports College in Parade Ground had chased away the labourers and that was the beginning of people’s revolt against the government’s tree felling policy. He expressed his happiness at the steady expansion of the movement since then and said he was very happy to see the inauguration of the Dalanwala Chapter of the group. Miss Uttarakhand, Ms Asha Negi, inaugurated the Chapter by lightening a ceremonial lamp on the occasion. Members then sang “Hum Honge Kamayab” which is the group song. Miss Asha then unfurled the banner of the Dalanwala Chapter and handed it over to the Coordinator of the Dalanwala Chapter, Mrs. Ira Chauhan. She said that the group plans to contact other residents of Dalanwala and motivate them to join it.
