Agarwal Mahasabha has a big plot in Haridwar Road, where they are planning to construct a community hall. The construction was inagurated a few days ago by Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.

The plot has 16 green Leetchi trees and around 6 trees, pits have been dug as if preparations are under way for felling them.

We went to the site & talked to the contractor who confirmed our worst fears. We then met Mr. Virender Prakash, the President of the Mahasabha, who was surprised to hear this & told us that as far as he knew, the area with trees was earmarked as an open dining area and the trees were not to be cut. He assured us to look into the matter and do his best to save the trees.
